🗳️ Tinubu’s Pardon U-Turn: Lagos APC Hits Back at Atiku’s Camp — “Stop Weaponizing Ignorance”

Lagos APC defends President Bola Tinubu’s decision to review the presidential pardon list, slamming Atiku’s camp for “weaponizing ignorance” and misunderstanding governance principles.

The Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has strongly criticized comments from an aide of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, describing the opposition’s reaction to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s review of the presidential pardon list as “a cocktail of ignorance and desperation politics.”
In a firm rebuttal issued on Thursday by Seye Oladejo, spokesperson of the Lagos APC, the party said Tinubu’s decision to withdraw certain clemencies was a demonstration of constitutional discipline and not a “pardon U-turn” as claimed by Atiku’s camp.

“Leadership Is Not Noise — It Is Responsibility”

The Lagos APC said the opposition’s attempt to misrepresent the President’s action exposed its “habitual misunderstanding of governance,” emphasizing that Tinubu’s leadership style prioritizes due process, legality, and national interest.

Oladejo said only in the “shallow corners of the opposition’s imagination” could constitutional refinement be seen as a policy reversal.

Atiku “Needs Governance Refresher Lessons”

Continuing, the Lagos APC spokesperson took a direct swipe at the former Vice President, accusing him of being out of touch with modern governance and political reality.

He added that “serial defeat at the polls can weigh heavily on an aging mind that was never more than ordinary in the first place.”

“A Tarnished Record Cannot Lecture Statesmanship”

Oladejo further accused Atiku of lacking the moral standing to question Tinubu’s decisions, citing his “turbulent political history” and “unresolved scandals.”

“Nigeria Deserves Better Than Desperation Politics”

The Lagos APC urged Nigerians to ignore what it called “infantile, bitterness-driven politics,” adding that President Tinubu remains focused on rebuilding national institutions.

The Lagos APC reaffirmed that President Bola Tinubu’s leadership will continue to be guided by constitutional principles, courage, and clarity of purpose, rather than political emotions or partisan attacks.
